Swype Beta - Step-By-Step Install Instructions (most phones)
We recommend using a a Wi-Fi connection to install Swype (it is about 10 MB)
| First, download the Swype installer for the updated version. | ||
| 1On your phone, open the Swype beta email | 2Click the 1st link in the email | 3Wait a minute (If nothing happens, click the link) |

| 4Wait for the file to download | 5Tap "Swype-Installer.apk" | 6If "Install Blocked" press Settings, if not go to Step 9 |

To uninstall the Swype Installer and Swype
Here's what is going to happen
- On the phone, go to Settings → Applications → Manage Applications → Swype → Uninstall
- When it asks if you want to uninstall Swype, press OK
- Swype should uninstall
- If you are removing Swype completely, in the same location choose SwypeInstaller → Uninstall
- When it asks if you want to uninstall SwypeInstaller, press OK
- SwypeInstaller should uninstall
- Take me back up to the Install directions
Swype Installer Question
Do I need to keep the Swype-Installer after installing Swype?
Nope! Swype now supports automatic updates via Swype Connect. Once it's installed, you can ditch the SwypeInstaller for good!
